FAQ
-
Are donations to BSG tax deductible?
Yes! BSG is a registered student organization at the University of California, Berkeley. We are non-profit, and as such, all donations are tax-deductible.
-
How do we develop projects and scopes?
After our initial calls with clients, clients will either send us a detailed project scope, or give us freedom to propose our own. After a second meeting where the scope is finalized, we will send over an MOU to be signed.

Where do donations to BSG go?
Other than the impact donations and initiatives described in the DEIB section, BSG also uses funds for professional development, case competition prizes, vital club operations, and more, aligned with our mission.
-
What do project timelines look like?
We typically work on projects over a 10-week period during the semester, or in special cases, the summer. Projects typically start at the beginning of semesters, followed by a 5-week midterm deliverable before a final deliverable.

How does BSG carry out projects?
We typically have 5-10 consultants staffed on each project team at around 7-12 hours per week. These consultants work under 2 project managers that are also advised by 2-4 senior advisors in the club.

Can BSG sign NDAs for projects?
Yes! For many of BSG’s past projects, all consultants on project teams have filled out comprehensive NDAs when working with proprietary company datasets or other privileged information.
